Is it tacky to have a yellow gold halo engagement ring, with white gold diamond bands?

My ring is a yellow gold halo ring (The band is diamonds, and the center ring is surrounded in a circle by small diamonds). Usually, these rings have two matching bands…one for the wedding and one for an anniversary…but we are buying ours at once. The jeweler suggested that I get the surrounding wedding bands in diamond white gold to brighten the ring up. Basically, the yellow gold ring would be sandwiched between white gold bands…is this tacky?
